Treaty 4: The Next Generation Project / La prochaine génération

Treaty 4: The next generation project (also known as Treaty4Project) is an educational project that allows students to explore the idea of treaty citizenship to better understand the role of their generation in Treaty 4 territory (Saskatchewan) today and in the future. It is our hope this project will reinforce inclusive viewpoints about Saskatchewan’s history and promote the development of student ideas and actions of what treaty citizenship could be.

Why participate in the Treaty4Project ?

We both have a passion for treaty education. We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to incorporate treaty education into our daily practice. As such, the project aligns with many curricular outcomes that are already being met in our classrooms on a daily basis. We know that treaty education brings with it possibilities for critical and creative thinking, as well as allowing students to begin to imagine a new, more inclusive, future.  Participating in the Treaty4Project will allow the students to come together with people from differing backgrounds and learn how the treaties affect us all. We believe it will be a powerful learning opportunity.
